RATES of HIRE and How to BOOK

Individual booking hire rate £15 per hour including setting up/clearing up times.

Please note statutory closing times: Mon-Thurs 10pm – Fri and Sat 11pm – Sunday 4pm (we do not accept bookings for parties or large gatherings ending after 4pm due to our need to clean the venue for hire on Monday morning).

Block booking – for regular events such as fitness or dance classes – hire rate £12 per hour.

Please review the facilities we have available and check the calendar. Contact secretaryherdman@outlook.com to discuss your requirements and availability. An appropriate hire form (for an individual booking or a block booking) will be sent to you together with payment details.

Facilities available

The ARTHUR HERDMAN PAVILION comprises an Assembly Room which can accommodate up to 58 people, with tables and seating available; a fully equipped kitchen with servery; a licence for the sale of alcohol; WCs for ladies and gentlemen and a veranda adjacent to the HERDMAN RECREATION FIELD on the north-east side overlooking the beautiful Rother Valley.

We recommend for large parties that hirees either hire their crockery from, for example https://www.jubileehire.co.uk (a local company) or bring disposables.

Both the Pavilion and the Herdman Recreation Field are available to hire for:
• petanque (boules),
• meetings of groups, clubs and societies, either on a regular or one-off basis
• art and craft events
• fitness classes
• talks, lectures, discussion groups, play reading
• pre-school playtime
• children’s parties

NB. Hire of the Pavilion or the field on a Saturday and/or some Sunday mornings 10:00-12:30 hours, is subject to availability during the football season (from late August through to April/May), due to regular use by SC Pass+Move football club for Under 10s, however it’s always worth enquiring with the Secretary either by text, email or via our contact page.

We no longer hire the venue on a Sunday after 4pm as cleaning has to be carried out ready for hire the next day.
